Our
Next Meeting |
Join us on July 11th, 2009 for our next
great meeting!
At our July meeting we'll be enjoying a demo of iMovie 09 using a high definition video camera. iMovie 09 comes with a host of new features including a stabilization option to convert shaky video to solid smooth playback.
*Note: Greystone Restaurant will be closed on July 4th, so there will be no Charlotte MacWorkshop breakfast this week.
At Our June Meeting:
We learned how to use the iPod Touch to do free text messaging to cell phones. We also saw a demo of Magic Jack, a device that allows you to have a local and long distance phone anywhere you have a laptop and internet access. (For less than $40.00 for the first year, $20.00 per year after that.)
Lastly, we took a look at Drive Genius. We were all impressed with the many tests and other uses for this great utility. Especially useful were the ability to defragment our hard drives and also "Drive Slim" which allows us to eliminate or compress unused and unneeded files taking up hard drive space. See our review on Drive Genius here.
